Missing Deadlines: Many applicants fail to submit their applications before the specified deadlines. Each lottery has a distinct timeframe, and late submissions will not be considered.
Incorrect Hunt Location Choices: Applicants often list their preferred counties or special hunt areas incorrectly. It’s crucial to refer to the back of the application for accurate names and acronyms.
Omitting Required Information: Some individuals forget to include essential details, such as their Social Security Number or IDNR Customer Number. Incomplete applications can lead to disqualification.
Group Hunt Errors: When applying for group hunts, mistakes occur if applicants do not follow the specific instructions for group leader information. Ensure all group members' details are accurate and complete.

When filling out the Illinois Turkey Permit Application form, there are important dos and don’ts to consider. Following these guidelines can help ensure your application is processed smoothly.
When applying for the Illinois Turkey Permit, several other forms and documents may be required or helpful to ensure a smooth application process. Understanding these additional documents can assist applicants in preparing their submissions effectively.
Being prepared with these documents can help streamline the application process for the Illinois Turkey Permit. Applicants should ensure they have everything ready before submitting their application to avoid any delays or issues.
Here are seven common misconceptions about the Illinois Turkey Permit Application form:
In reality, applicants are limited to one application per lottery. This helps ensure a fair chance for all hunters.
This is not true. Permits are issued to specific individuals and cannot be transferred to another person.
Applicants must apply for the same county and season choices as listed in their previous year’s application to gain preference in the drawing.
Actually, the fee is only charged if you are successful in the lottery drawing. An unfilled voided check is required for payment purposes.
Group hunts are not permitted in Lottery 3. Be sure to check the specific rules for each lottery.
Permits are valid only for the specific season and location indicated on the permit. Special Hunt Area permits cannot be used in other areas.
There are specific application periods for each lottery. Applications submitted after the deadline will be entered into the next application period.
